Red Clover is recruiting for a global non-profit professional organization representing city, state, regional, provincial, and national film commission members.

Established in 1975, the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) stands as the only global non-profit professional organization representing city, state, regional, provincial, and national film commission members across six continents. We are committed to ensuring that all our endeavors are conducted in a manner that is fair, sustainable, and inclusive, reflecting the diverse needs of communities worldwide.

As champions of advocacy, connectivity, and education our goal is empowering film commissions and industry stakeholders to drive economic growth, build robust infrastructure, and advance professional development. Thereby enabling film commissions and industry partners to bring successful local productions to life.

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration and operation of the association, and implementing the strategic goals and objectives established in conjunction with the Board of Directors. The Executive Director works closely with the global membership and international industry leaders to ensure that the purpose, character and the role of the association are respected, encouraged, and advanced. In addition to serving as the primary fundraiser and spokesperson for the organization they are also responsible for directly overseeing staff operations, representing the organization at events, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and steering the organization towards its mission. This position directly reports to the Board of Directors, with the Chairperson serving as their immediate supervisor.

While we are open to speaking with candidates across the United States, this positions work hours will be based in Pacific Standard Time.

Additionally, since this role requires proximity for in-person collaboration and meetings, our preference is for applicants based in or close to the Los Angeles area.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, manage, and execute multi-year strategic plans outlining the association's overall goals, objectives and KPIs.
Generate, track, and report on annual work plans, job descriptions, performance scorecards, operational budgets, corporate financials, initiatives, events, programs and membership services.
Work with the Chairperson to facilitate, deliver and compile information for the Board of Directors and board meetings.
Carry projects and initiatives from inception to completion obtaining board approvals as appropriate.
Generate or utilize research that analyzes member and international industry trends to guide and inform board decisions on strategies and operations.
Oversee administration for all operations for the organization, its events, programs and initiatives.
Act in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and established financial policies to administer all financial resources and budgets including, monthly reporting to the treasurer and direct quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors.
Serve as primary spokesperson for the organization ensuring clear communication with the membership, the industry, the media and the public.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with the global entertainment industry to strengthen advisory relationships, form partnerships and encourage collaboration.
Identify and engage with global film commissions to recruit new member commissions and retain existing members. Have a core understanding of membership organizations.
Oversee relationships with global industry press outlets, the trades and program partners.
Coordinate membership services, communications and initiatives with the aim of growing our membership.
Direct, inform and align marketing and promotional campaigns, materials and media tools to ensure that the organizations vision is communicated clearly and aligns with established values.
Work with the Board of Directors to champion fundraising and sponsorship opportunities for the organization.
Oversee the delivery and quality of all programs, products, services and initiatives including information management, online services and professional development, education, and training.
Direct the creation and implementation of all events, educational offerings and , seminars etc.
Ascertain and manage opportunities to lead industry research initiatives.

Knowledge Skills And Experience:

Degree in Arts Management, Film Production, Marketing / PR, Media / Communication, International Relations, Public Policy, Organizational Management, Cultural Studies or comparable professional experience.
5+ years of experience working in screen production, location management, Cultural Studies, or comparable professional experience
5+ years experience in managing teams, resources, programs, events, and projects
5+ years leading organizational and operational strategies
Have or develop comprehensive knowledge of the screen industries - locally, regionally, and internationally. This includes knowledge of international screen production requirements, tax and incentive regimes, and global market trends etc.
Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, financial management, and organizational management
Firm grasp of the industry trends that impact global film commissions and the film and audiovisual business as a whole
Track and respond to changes within the industry, especially ones affecting members globally.
Familiarity with Google Suites, WordPress, CRM systems, and Project Management tools (e.g. Salesforce, Quickbooks, Asana)
Well developed leadership, and team building skills
Strong project management skills
Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent networking, client relationship management, and partnership building skills
Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills & emotional intelligence, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
